About Me

My photo
I’m 21 and a senior in college! I attend a school that’s in Indiana, but I’m originally from Missouri. My original purpose for this blog, when I was 18, was to share beauty tips and reviews, but as soon as I started blogging I began including other things as well like product reviews for items that I planned to take to college. Then I actually started college and pretty much lost track of the blog. Now that a few years have passed, I hope to begin blogging again but with new ideas in mind. Because of this, I’m thinking about changing the name of the blog, but I have yet to decide on a new name. Some of the new things I plan on discussing involve college and how to practice effective time management skills, how to get things organized, classes, health, and fitness.

College!!!

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to check back in and let all of you know I left Missouri on Wednesday the 17th and arrived in Indiana that night. I moved into my dorm yesterday and have a little free time right now in betweens all the meetings they have planned.
So, now that I'm mostly settled in and everything I'll be back to posting makup/beauty things pretty soon.
I hope that you all have had a wonderful time while I've been gone and that you have a great weekend!

BTW: if you want dorm pics or any organizational tips let me know. Although, I do have to say that my dorm room is slightly above average dorm size plus I'm in a triple so that makes it an even bigger size increase. I don't know how helpful I'll be with smaller rooms, but I can definitely give you guys my opinions. I fit a trunk and half a backseat full of stuff into my room so if that helps at all, there you go. I know some girls actually had to like take stuff home that they didn't have room for, so comparatvely I think I fit a lot into my room- maybe because of my organizational skills? Not to toot my own horn on anything, but I am a super good organizer :) So yea, leave any questions or comments on the page and as soon as I moderate it/read it I'll get back to you or make a new post!

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette - CLASSIC

Okay guys, so you're probably thinking, "Really Michelle!? The Too Faced Natural Eye Palette again!??" Well, the answer is YES :) This post will be on the Classic instructional card- the FINAL instructional card. So that means I will only be doing another post on this palette if I discover a way I like doing it aside from the posts I've already uploaded. Also, if I run out because I really really like it then it might show up in one of purchases posts.

The instructions are:
  1. Blend Silk Teddy from crease to brow.
  2. Press Push Up onto lid.
  3. Blend Erotica into the crease & lower lashes.

Okay, so out of the three instructional cards this one is my favorite! I love this look, it's not too light like the day card and not too much like the fashion card. I would wear this look on an everyday basis. The Day card could be worn often too, but it's really light so most likely I'd only wear it sometime when I don't want to come off as actually wearing makeup.
After I applied the eye shadow following the directions I put on gel liner on my upper lash line, pencil liner on my lower lash line, and then the Falsies mascara. I really like this look and I know I'll definitely be doing it often.

BTW: I am moving on Wednesday to Indiana so I probably won't be posting as often this week as I did when I first started this blog. I'm going to be packing all my stuff up for the next couple of days and then finally hitting the road for Indiana! I'll move in to my dorm on Thursday so I might be able to post again towards the end of the week or on the weekend unless it's just to hectic while trying to move in and get settled with my roommates. In that case I'll be updating next week :)

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette - FASHION

Okay, so I know I've done quite a few posts about the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette and I have to be honest and say that there is one more post after this one because I decided to review each of the three instructional cards separately. From the title you may have guessed this review is over the Fashion card.

I'm sure you're all very familiar with the picture to the left but it has the box, the actual shadows, and the three instructional cards. So the steps for the fashion card are:
  1. Sweep Nude Beach from crease to brow.
  2. Press Honey Pot onto the inner lid and around tear duct.
  3. Blend Coca Puff into the outer lid, crease, upper & lower lashes.
I have to say that at first I extremely disliked the final look. It was extremely metallic/shimery and the crease color is very dark, I think too dark, for the other colors. I also didn't like the instructions for putting it around your tear duct. After I took the picture to show you guys though, I realized maybe it was just because I was so up close that I thought it was overly shimery because after seeing the picture I thought someone at a normal distance would not notice that. Also, I wear glasses and so I thought that would also kind of cover the shimery effect too on me.

So the picture to the right is the final product and I had on a new liquid liner pen on my upper lash line- I'll do a review on it later because I didn't like it at all, it smelled like permanent marker. I also had a little pencil liner on the lower lash line.

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette- DAY

So as I've said the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette came with three instructional cards explaining how to achieve different looks that look natural depending on the situation. Yesterday I applied the palette using the "Day" instructions.
So the instructional card is at the right, I changed the settings to portrait hoping that you'd be able to read it but I'm kind of worried you won't be able to so I'm going to go ahead and put the three steps right here again.
  1. Sweep Heaven from lashes to brow.
  2. Blend Velvet Revolver into crease.
  3. Line upper and lower lash lines with Sexpresso and blend.

Okay, so the picture above is the final product and I know it looks like it's bad lighting but it's really not because these instructions basically say to blend a really light/white color all over (lashes to brow) and then put a grey color into your crease. This is really like an ultra conservation super day time natural eye. I think this is almost like too natural in a way because you almost can't see it which I guess some people go for that look but I think it's a waste of time to put on eye shadow like you don't have any on. I don't like super bright eye shadow colors or anything, I do tend to brown, bronze, or natural colors. So I do like it to look natural and not too heavy but I do want it to be visible- I don't want to spend however long putting on makeup and it not even be noticeable. There's two other instruction cards which I'm going to post on here also but so far I like what I did myself instead of the day version.

Too Faced Natural Eye Palette

Pictured above is the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette. I have the box showing, the actual shadows showing, and the three instruction cards that came with the palette.

Okay, so I actually went ahead and did my eyes the way I wanted- I didn't use any of the instruction cards. That's why I have the picture above so zoomed in, so you can see which color I'm talking about.
First, I took a lid shadow brush and mixed nude beach with silk teddy and I put that on my lids. Then I mixed Heaven and Silk Teddy as the highlight for just under my brow. I put push-up into my crease and then went over it with cocoa puff before I blended them all out to make sure there were no harsh color lines. I then went over the brow highlight again with Heaven and Silk Teddy. I lined my upper lash line with a Maybelline Eyestudio gel liner in blackest black. I went over my waterline with a pencil liner from the drugstore that's also black. I then went over the pencil liner on my waterline with the color sexspresso. I used Maybelline Falsies mascara also. All pictured below left.

The picture below is of the three shadow brushes I used to apply all the eye shadows.

Also, I'm going to put up two pictures of my eye with the finished product. They're both in different rooms so you can see it in different lighting- my room lighting wasn't fantastic so I went ahead and took one in a different room.

This picture is the one I took in my bedroom, it's a little dark so you can't really see definition between the colors but you can see the eyeliners really well which is why I'm showing it.

The picture to the right is a little lighter so you can see the highlight under my brow and the crease colors a little better than the picture in my bedroom.

New Makeup Brushes!!

Okay guys, so if you've been reading this you know I've been waiting to use my new Too Faced Natural Eye Palette until I got some new really good eyeshadow brushes because I don't want to use the eyeshadow sponge things or like flat eyeshadow brushes brushes.
So, anyway I just want to show you the new brushes and then the next post will be my review of the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette.
Okay, so in the picture to the left I have the whole little kit open and you can see that there are 15 brushes in the kit. There are 3 bigger blush brushes, one is angled so it's like a contour brush. There's 3 eye shadow brushes. Then there's a few brushes that look to me like they can be used as eye shadow brushes or as eye liner brushes. There's a flat brush and then two mascara brushes. I went from left to right based on the picture so you can look at each brush from left to right.

This picture to the right shows what the kit looks like and it's like pink I don't know I think the thing on Amazon said snake skin but either way it's some sort of faux animal skin on the outside.

So yea, that's the new brush kit I bought. Remember I put the Amazon search bar at the bottom of my blog so if your interested you can search for Bundle Monster 15 piece brush set, I guess is what it's name would be because the brand is Bundle Monster and it has 15 pieces. So if you want to look at the description or the cost, about $18, check that out. I have to say I waited all day, because I expected this to arrive today, to put on makeup. So I can say that I used the foundation brush, the contour brush, the three eye shadow brushes, and the mascara comb thing and I definitely am satisfied with this new kit.

Venus

So I want to talk about shaving :) I know, it's a little weird but I feel like so many girls use bad razors and they don't get the best experience they can out of shaving.
I think a lot of girls and women use disposable, cheap razors because better ones with more blades are pretty expensive. However, I have to tell you if you invested in a really good razor you actually be saving money because you wouldn't have to but a lot of disposable ones and you don't have to buy the refill razor things that often.

Venus Embrace
So this is the razor I use and I honestly don't remember how much it costs because I bought it a few years ago. When I purchased it it came with I think two refill razor things and I bought a package of I believe eight with it. Since then I have not had to buy any more refill packages, they have really lasted that long. I usually only replace the blade when I notice that it's dull or if I'm starting to get little cuts. So it has the little pod thing with suction cups on the back to hold the refills. When I notice either one of those things in the shower I just go into pod and open a new blade and replace it right there so I don't get any more cuts or anything.

I want to tell you guys, my mother still uses cheap, disposable razors and so that's what I used when I first started shaving and it was the worst thing ever. Almost every time you shave you need a new one because they don't have many blades and they cause a lot little cuts because they get dull quickly. With the Venus Embrace it is seriously the best shave I could ever get, it has five blades which is why I bought it out of all the Venus razors. It gives the closest and the smoothest shave you could ever possibly imagine. To be honest, I used to use shaving cream and I don't now. I just use body wash to lather up my legs and that is enough for me because my legs aren't really sensitive. I guess if you had sensitive skin on your legs you might want to use a shaving cream but the blades on this razor are so precise that you really don't need it.

Now, I do want to say that Venus does make disposable versions of their razors but you could really save the most amount of money by purchasing a razor/pod set and then a cartridge of refills that would last honestly a couple of years. You might not get that long out of them if you shave every single day but I think that you should not shave EVERY SINGLE day. I know girls that have really bad razor burn and just problems in general with shaving every day like cuts and nicks so I really don't recommend every day shaving. Instead if you have like really fast growing hair try every other day. For me I shave maybe two times a week, my leg hair doesn't grow that fast so I shave maybe every three or four days.

So yea, I really recommend you give this razor a try if you have any issue with your current razor about it being dull or cutting you a lot.

Space Bags

In preparation for college, I bought a 12 pack of space bags for I think $30-ish at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I'm going to college in Indiana, but I am from Missouri so I need to be able to fit everything in my car! In the picture above there is a four inch foam mattress topper and three towels (other side of the bag) in the extra large space bag.

This is what the bag looked like after I used the vacuum to take the air out. This is not the first one I used out of the pack I bought which is why I can say this is really the most even and flat a bag has looked after the air came out. I kind of do regret buying the pack of space bags because I can say they do save a little bit of space but I don't think they save quite as much as I would like. When you see commercials or infomercials for spaces bags the bags always, always, always look flat. I can tell you that is NOT the case in real life.
The picture at the right shows that the bags do not go completely flat when the air is taken out of them. As you can see from how wide it is, it doesn't actually save you that much space. The reason I will use them though, is because I think it will keep me organized by putting things together like all my bedding is in a bag- my comforter and sheets. The mattress topper was too big for that bag so it's in the one I'm showing and I added some towels because there was room in that bag that I wanted to fill.

I want to say I have also noticed in other bags that I filled that air kind of seeps back into the bag, it is a pretty slow process but there are two bags that I noticed take on air. I don't know if I somehow bought a package of bad space bags or what but the package I bought is definitely not what I expected. If you do want to try space bags I would recommend getting a smaller package or maybe even buying one bag so you kind of know what to expect before you spend $30 on 12 bags like me.

Hair Ties

So I have to say I've been using this brand of hair ties for a long time, multiple years, but I've recently noticed that the normal black or brown hair ties that don't have the metal part seem to be made with less elastic than before. I don't know if it's just me, I haven't gotten my hair cut or anything recently though so I don't know how it could be me but those hair ties are the ones that I used to use and I mean I used them for years. They were just normal black or brown, I used both, without metal elastics. It's gotten to the point where every few days I have to throw one away because it's so stretched out that I can't use it on my hair anymore. When I start using a new one I can normally go around my ponytail or bun twice. Now after about a day or two I have to start going around three times because they're so loose- like they're being made with less elastic than before. So the last time I went to the store I knew I was almost out of the old kind because I have to grab a new one every few days and I started just looking at what hair ties they had to see what new one I wanted to try. I decided on these (pictured above) that are almost like rubber, and they seem to be pretty tight- so I can only go around twice- and they don't have any metal part which I don't like. They also say they're nonslip but I have had to take my hair down a couple of times and put it back up because some pieces of hair were coming out but other than that it seems to still be pretty tight so hopefully it will last longer than the other kind. Preferably a week or two, I usually get a new one after that just because hair will get tangled around it and it should be stretched out by then- but not after a few days like the other kind started doing.
I've been using the same tie now for a couple of days and it really seems to be working, not stretching out but if it does I'll definitely do a new post to let everyone know. I bought these at Walgreen's though for buy one get one 50% off so I got these and another new kind that are smaller than the ones I was using previously which I'll review after I use one of them.

New Stuff!!!

Hey Guys!
SO, to start I want to let everyone know how much I actually buy stuff online. The answer to that is ALL THE TIME! Haha, I know some stuff you might be a little iffy about buying online- especially any beauty products but you really have to look at the review percentage from whoever you're buying from. If I'm buying something on amazon or ebay I try to stick with someone who has a rating of 98%- sometimes people will leave negative reviews for slow shipping or something that isn't really related to the actual product.
Okay, so now with that said I also want to let you guys know that if there's anything on here from Amazon that I talk about that you might want to try there's a little amazon search bar at the very bottom of my blog so you can always go search for whatever product you want there.
I recently purchased three items on Amazon and I received two of them today, both before their estimated delivery dates, and one free item. I bought the Glytone exfoliating gel wash because the one I have now is a little under the halfway point and I want to make sure I have a new bottle to take with me to college. That came with a little free moisturizer thing which I might review, I might not to be honest because I'm really happy with my Hempz moisturizer that I currently use. Okay, so I also got today a Victoria's Secret Pink lotion. I have to say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Victoria's Secret ok so I'm definitely a little biased but there are scents from them that I don't like and so obviously if I buy something or review it and it's a fragrance most likely I like it because I'm not going to buy a scent I don't like. Earlier this year in one of my classes a girl had this lotion and I wanted it so bad- it smells really good. But it's actually a limited edition lotion so I couldn't find it on their website or in my local store. So I went online and found this one on Amazon and I had to get it. It is called Shine Pink and I'm just going to write the description on it's back: Creamy lotion leaves skin supersoft and scented with Shine Pink, a sparkling blend of Peach and Tiare flower. I honestly don't know why I like this lotion so much because I normally go for more fruity scents as opposed to flowery and I really can't identify what this lotion smells more like but I really like it. So you guys should definitely check out this lotion although, if you can't find it online anymore maybe you can find a duplicate lotion that has peach in it so it smells similar because like I said this smells so good.

HauteLook

So I wanted to let everyone know about this great website called HauteLook.com and basically it's a website that sells products for 50-70% off their retail value. Products like makeup, clothes, and I think shoes too but I just signed up for the beauty products. So what you do is when you first go to their website you enter your email and create a password. You then have access to their site and can buy the products at their discount. You give them your email so that they send you an email everyday, just one, that lists what sales they have that day and they also notify you of upcoming sales. I signed up actually because they were having a Stila cosmetics sale, I'm not sure if that's still going on or not but I know that they'll have other cosmetics sales to interest you guys! So I would definitely go check it out, I know I already have! :) If you're interest, click here to go sign up!

Matrix Sleek.Look

Matrix Sleek.Look Shampoo and Conditioner

I think I started using this shampoo/conditioner set maybe a year ago, probably a little longer. I have to say, I've used drugstore brands of shampoo and conditioner as well as salon brands. This is probably the best salon brand, or at least the brand I like the most. I use the sleek.look set because I have really dry hair and this makes my hair look more shiny as opposed to dry. When I first started using it though, it did make my hair look oily until I figured out the right amount of product to use in my own hair. I was using a lot of it, like the amount of drugstore brand I would use. Then I started using the pumps for these bottles and I do about 5-8 pumps of shampoo depending on how much is left in the bottle and less for the condition- about 5 pumps. Those amounts leave my hair looking shiny and healthy and so I really like it. I used to only use this when I wanted to do anything with my hair- straighten or curly it. I would use just a drugstore brand for everyday washing. I now use this set every time I wash and wash at most every two days sometimes I can go three if it's not hot out and I don't feel like it needs washed. It's way healthier for your hair if you can go two or more days between washes but I know some people have scalp conditions or just oily hair and they kind of have to wash everyday. If you do have oily hair though, dry shampoos would be something to try to see if you can maybe get two days in between washes, because it really is best for your hair.
So what I do is use the shampoo and then when the conditioner is in my hair I take my brush and brush through to make sure I get really even coverage and that way I also don't have to brush my hair after I get out of the shower.  I find that if I brush when it's dry sometimes it causes breakage. I also don't like to brush after I straighten my hair because it seems like it makes it not as sleek to me. So yea, I really just like brushing in the shower. When I get out I usually let it dry on its own with only a little towel drying, I don't even blow dry my hair that often because I feel like that's really damaging in conjunction with straightening or curling.
By the way that picture is showing the shampoo and conditioner in a shower caddy I picked up at target for $2.50 for college and I was checking to make sure that they fit in it. Oh, and one of them has the $11.98 sticker on it because Beauty Brands is having their liter sale right now! SO if you want to try this set out I would definitely go pick it up or even another salon brand that you like because that liter sale was still going on on Saturday when I went.

Makeup Removers

So I know you can't see really what the front or back of the bottle of the product says but I kind of just wanted to show you the bottle. I wanted to because it actually says the bottle is made from at least 50% post consumer products meaning basically 50% of the bottle is made of recycled material. It says the bottle may have marks or imperfections because of that which is why I wanted tot show you the bottle because mine actually doesn't seem to have any little marks like that. Okay so now on to the actual reviewing of the product. It's Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover, I bought this yesterday and the reason I did is because I'd actually heard that some girls wash their faces twice with their acne washes- once to remove makeup and once to actually cleanse. Now the first thing I thought about that was- okay, that's overwashing your face. Then I actually thought about when I wash my face, I don't wear makeup every single day but when I do I thought about how the cleanser actually turns the color of my foundation and how it seems like you're kind of just rubbing the foundation around on your face while your "washing." So I thought, well maybe I should buy a makeup remover for my face because I already use an eye makeup remover. While I was at Walgreen's I was actually looking for makeup removing wipes, not liking the idea of washing twice, but then I realized like how much it would per month to buy makeup removing wipes and decided to try this facial cleanser. The only reason I considered it was because it doesn't have any acne treatments in it, like salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. I figured it would be a really gentle cleanser that would remove my makeup without over drying or over washing my face. So I gave it a try last night and the first thing I thought was OMG this smells so good! I think that drug store brands definitely have that as an advantage over any higher end acne treatment system, like glytone. It really did seem to gently cleanse my skin of any makeup, I did notice however that the cleanser didn't turn as dark as the glytone cleanser when it removed my makeup so I don't think it removed quite as much as the glytone but I do think it removes enough of it so that the glytone can acutally cleanse my face.

I also wanted to include the product at the left which is the Clean and Clear Soothing Eye Makeup Remover. I find that this is a really good makeup remover- I normally use either liquid or gel liner on my top lash line and this really gets rid of that and the pencil liner I put on my water line as well as the mascara I use. It is, like many eye makeup removers, two different liquids so you shake it up before you put it on your eyes with a cotton pad. As you can see though, I've been using it for a while and will probably buy another bottle of this when I finally run out of it because it really does work to get rid of all my eye makeup I wear during the day.

Skin Care Routine

Glytone Exfoliating Gel Wash
Every morning and every night I cleanse my face with the glytone exfoliating gel wash. This system has glycolic acid which is the exfoliating part- it doesn't have beads or anything like that. I really like that this wash doesn't have salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it because the other two products in the system do and if all three did it would probably be so drying for me that I couldn't use it.
Glytone Toner

The Glytone Toner (right) has I believe 2% salicylic acid in it but the worst thing about this toner is that it smells very strongly of acetone. The only reason I still continue to use it is because it actually works so I'm willing to put up with the fact that it doesn't have any fragrance in it. When I first started this system I only used the toner in the morning because it burned and dried my skin out. After about a week I noticed it no longer burned when I applied it so I upped my applications to morning and night.

Glytone Acne Gel
This Glytone Acne Gel has 10% benzoyl peroxide in it which before I started using it made me really worried because I definitely thought this whole system would dry my skin out so bad. I found a really good moisturizer though, which I apply right after the I use the acne system and my skin has not gotten dried out or flakey. Although, sometimes I have noticed my skin peeling off because this system uses glycolic acid which is an ingredient used in chemical peels. So this system will really work to flake off the dead layer of skin to get rid of acne marks and current acne. The acne gel, like the toner, was something I used once a day, at night, in the beginning but I've increased the use to morning and night. UPDATE: I forgot to mention, you may notice I've used way more of this than the other two items in the system. It's because since my skin is so dry I apply this gel with a cotton round to avoid it peeling my skin so because of that I went through the tube way faster than someone would who applied it with their fingers. This set of three products is supposed to last a normal person a couple months, an advantage over Proactiv considering I paid $35 for this dermatologist line on amazon that should be $80+. The other two products will definitely last longer and the toner will probably last longer than a couple of months. I recently bought a new tube of this gel on amazon for I think $12 or so, this is something I'll probably have to buy every month and a half or two months-ish. It's worth it to me though, as someone who was having trouble with acne that I think was probably due to the stress of graduation and college and everything. So I definitely think there will be a time that I can cut back on the usage after everything has cleared (acne marks) because I didn't used to have to use such a lengthy system on my face.

Proactiv Skin Lightening Lotion
After I'd been using the Glytone system for about a month and a half I was very happy that it had gotten rid of all my active acne and I hadn't had any breakouts since I started using it. I wasn't quite as satisfied with how it was working on my acne marks though. So I started looking online and I found a lot of very positive reviews on the Proactiv Skin Lightening Lotion so I bought it on Amazon and have been using for about a week. After the first few days I noticed it was really drying me out so I started using it only in the morning.
Proactiv Refining Mask

I also bought the Proactiv Refining Mask on Amazon at the same time I bought the Proactiv Skin Lightening Lotion. I use it as a full facial mask at night every few days. If I do have a random pimple though I use it on that all night. That's why it's picture is in my room instead of the bathroom. It really seems to work at getting rid of the pimple overnight in conjunction wit the glytone system before I put it on and after I take it off in the morning.

Hempz Original Moisturizer

This is the lotion that I use on my face after I wash morning and night with the Glytone system. Now, the reason I even started using the Glytone system was because the moisturizer I used previously was jojoba butter by Victoria's Secret- they stopped making that particular lotion so they recommended I try their cocoa butter. That was the biggest mistake I could have possibly made for my face- it made me break out not only on my face but also even on my neck from bringing the lotion down after I applied it to my face. So of course after I noticed that I started looking for a really good acne treatment system and moisturizer. This Hempzebay because the friend who recommended it to me asked if I wanted to split a gallon with her so the cost would be cheaper. I found a gallon on ebay for $45 so that meant it was less than $7 per bottle for us and we each got about three and a half bottles.

So yea, that's my basic routine every day but in the next post I'm going to be talking about my makeup removing products. If you have any questions/recommendations leave a comment! :)
And thanks for sticking with this post to the bottom, I know it's a little lenghty.

Toenails!

Normally when I paint my toenails I do french tips using Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen in white and I absolutely love that look. I usually will always have french tips on my toes- always, always, always. The only times before that I wouldn't would be during tennis season because it would chip and stuff so I'd have to redo them almost everyday. I like the french tips though, because when I use darker colors on my fingers or toes they tend to stain even after I use nail polish remover a couple of times. Which is why I've been wanting the Essie Ballet Slippers color because it's definitely light enough that it shouldn't stain. So this morning I decided to take a break from the french tips on my toes and actually went ahead and painted them ballet slippers. I think that I'll definitely be using the color at times when I don't feel like doing french tips all the time. Although I do have to say, it will be very hard to get me to never do french tips because I really do love that.

Essie Ballet Slippers NailPolish

Essie Ballet Slippers Nail Polish

I have to start out by saying that I've never used an Essie nail polish before I tried this color today. I've really wanted to try this color out for about a week, which isn't really that long I know but I was so excited to try this that as soon as I got home I painted my left thumb nail just to see if would be the color I expected. I have to say I really like this color and after I painted all my nails I realized why it's called ballet slippers since the color is just such a light pink- like ballet slippers. The first coat you put on is actually almost pale, you really have to do two coats to get the actual ballet slippers color. Well I did because of my skin tone, if you're lighter than you might be able to get away with only one coat. The picture that I'm going to post below of it on my fingers will be a little rough and it's because it's just the color, two coats, with no topcoat because I really just wanted to see what it would look like and I'll have to redo it so it looks a little better. You can see though, what the color will look like and judge for yourself if you'll like it. This is probably a color for the end of summer and some people might want to use into fall because it's really neutral in a bright way and so if you're wearing a lot of darker clothing shades in fall/winter this might be a way to brighten everything up.

Beauty Buys!

Okay guys, so today I went shopping for back to school at Target and I also got a lot of stuff for college and my room. Then I went to Beauty Brands and picked up some shampoo and condition plus some makeup. After that my final stop was at Walgreen's, actually and they have quite a few deals and I picked up some more makeup and stuff there.

From Target I actually didn't get anything really beauty related but I do want to mention the stuff I bought for college there today. So from Target I got: a shower caddy, masking tape, school supplies, a tote for carrying books and stuff (like a back pack), silverware,  and a purse. I thought about getting this little 6 cube shelf thing for like the rooms plates, bowls, and snacks. My room is a triple and I'm trying to add what I can to the room but because I'm coming from so far away I'm worried that I won't have enough room in my trunk so I didn't get the shelf.

Then at Beauty Brands I made sure to get my Matrix shampoo and condition because they're having their Liter Sale! So I got my $21 shampoo for $11.98 and for the conditioner, which is normally $25, I also got that for $11.98. For those I use the orange bottles- which are Matrix Essentials sleek.look. I will have to do a review on that later because I'm afraid this post will be a little lengthy but suffice it to say I definitely like this set. So moving on, I also bought a glominerals gloProtective liquid foundation and my color is golden matte 2 (the box shows a roman numerals two). This foundation comes in satin finish or matte and I prefer matte because I've used other matte foundations before and I knew that I would like the matte. So I didn't want to spend that much money testing the satin finish just in case I didn't like it. I haven't tried it out for all day wear yet but it looks like it will appear cakey if you apply with just fingers so I'll definitely have to apply it with a foundation brush and then I'll review that later. Oh yea, and that was I think $37. I also got Smashbox Photo OP Under Eye Brightener and I'm not really sure if this is supposed to be used as a concealer or if it's a highlighter so I'll be looking that up and then let you guys know after I try it and then review the product. So then I bought the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette which is something I've been wanting for a while and have considered buying online but I worried that the eye shadows would break during shipping so I just went ahead and bought it in store. I think this will be really pretty and it actually has directions on how to wear it but I have kind of a different idea in mind and I'll make sure that when I review it I include their instructions with my own. Because this was over $30 I got two products for free: the Too Faced Lockdown Ultimate Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow and the Too Faced Lashgasm mascara. I've actually gotten these products before as part of the same promotion and I really like the Lockdown eye shadow in bedroom eyes, I believe it's called, but today the lady gave me this blue color called I'm guilty and I really don't think I'll be using that. The Lashgasm mascara I've also gotten before and to be honest I don't like it that much- I don't think that you should spend a lot of money on mascara, drug store brands are just as good if not better. The Too Faced Lashgasm actually clumps quite a bit.

Ok, so then I went to Walgreen's because I originally needed to buy more Zyrtec but then I walked in and they were having this sale on Essie nail polishes and I've really been wanting the color ballet slippers so I had to get that. Plus in addition to the sale you got a free Essie emery board with your purchase. Then I wanted a few other nail polishes that were a little cheaper and those were both Wet n Wild brand- I got Party of Five Glitters and Teal of Fortune. They were $1.99 a piece. I also got tweezers and nail clippers because I figured I should get my own for my dorm room since I won't be able to use our home ones. Then I got Maybelline New York The Falsies Volume Express mascara because again it's something I've been wanting to try and that was almost $8. I got L'Oreal Paris Elnett satin Hairspray in extra strong hold- I actually got the little version to try it because I've never used it before, 2.2 oz were $6.99. Then I also bought a makeup removing cleanser- Neutrogena naturals fresh cleansing + makeup remover because I wanted to have a makeup remover for before I used my actual face wash. I also got some gel, liquid, and pencil eyeliner to try out. I got some scunci hair ties and headbands, some nail polish remover (a fresh bottle for college, I don't want my current bottle to leak during the move), and three packages of cotton rounds because I use like four everyday- two in the morning and two at night to apply my face stuff.

So that was everything I got today and if there's something you really want me to review quickly let me know in the comments because I'll do whatever I'm asked to first. Otherwise I'll probably do it just by what I've been really

I know this post is really long so thanks for reading :)
